I just listened to two pokercasts on twoplustwo, formerly called the rounders show on bigpoker.ca. Canadians mike and adam have a great show, and now they have a great forum. I have been listening to this show for a while, and the guest list continues to be the cream of the poker crop. This week, I listened to two pokercasts, the newest one with Mike Sexton, and the one with David Sklansky from a few weeks ago. Both were awesome.
Mike Sexton's interview mentioned the new season of the world poker tour, which will debut on Monday March 24th, right after High Stakes Poker, on the new home of the wpt, the game show network. This is a great move by gsn, leading in with hsp. Monday will be poker night, and there is no competition with monday night football until september. Great idea. I never met Mike Sexton, but I got addicted to poker when I met his brother Tom out in vegas a few years back. These are obv. very cool guys.
The Sklansky interview was awesome as well. I did not know he went to the Wharton school at the University of Pennsylvania. He never graduated, but poker was his ticket. He is even nerdier than I expected, but does he know poker, and does he have great stories.
Both Sexton and Sklansky mentioned Chip Reese in their interviews. That, and a post by bbrown got me thinking about chip reese.
What if Chip Reese had a blog. I don't mean recently, I mean, way back, when he was a grad student who never made it to grad school. He went from Dartmouth to Stanford, but before Stanford, there was that little "vegas stopover." Forty years later, he was everyone's #1 poker player. Anyhow, I had an idea that his thoughts back then must have been interesting...
today i won $58,000+ from some asian tourists who were trying to learn 7 stud. these are the worst players i have ever seen out here. they are even worse than freshmen. these chicks are decent but mostly whores or drug addicts. oh well, class starts in three days, i guess i better register soon, i haven't had time yet b/c of all these all night poker games. wow, it's hot out here.
